Utilizing Clinical Hypnosis for Smoking Cessation

My Approach

Smoking Cessation  is a challenge for most people.  However, appropriate tools, motivation, and belief are variables that can increase chances of  successful outcome in quitting for life.

The tools I provide are hypnosis and evidence of positive change with the products Smokerlizer® and LungLife.  These tools can, in turn, enhance motivation, commitment, and belief on the part of the person being treated for smoking cessation.

The Smokerlyzer® measures amount of carbon monoxide (CO) in the blood while the LungLife calculates lung age.  So, you will be able to actually SEE how much you are benefiting from quitting right away as levels of carbon monoxide decrease.

As a tool, hypnosis can provide the experience of by-passing the conscious critical mind so communication occurs on a subconscious or unconscious level.  Hypnosis allows attention to become sharply focused, narrowed,  and concentrated thus increasing the potency of suggestions.

My approach is holistic in that the entire person is given consideration:  the emotional, physical, and spiritual aspects of the self.

My approach to quitting smoking begins with assessing the Mind-Body connection in order to better prepare you in quitting smoking.

Is stress a factor in life?  Do you know HOW to relax in healthy ways?  Knowing how to calm yourself during stressful situations can allow for an easier and smoother transition on your way to becoming a non-smoker.

You may be ready to quit smoking right from our first meeting ... or maybe you won't be at that place just yet.  If you are ready to quit, you can expect to meet 2 to 4 times.

However, in cases where an existing underlying condition  such as chronic pain, substance abuse, or anxiety disorder is diagnosed, the number of sessions will increase accordingly.

Either way is okay and right for you, whatever you decide.  In both cases as you prepare for the road ahead, I can provide some insight into:

  • Learn about cessation Pharmacology:  non-prescriptive and prescriptive medications that may relieve emotional, psychological, and physical symptoms.
  • Understanding that the first period of quitting, usually counted as a 90-day or three- month period, will most likely be challenging.
  • Learn about Medications, prescription and non-prescription, that can help reduce weight gain.
  • Sources of support that are free for anyone wanting to quit.
  • Learn how Hypnosis and self-hypnosis can provide a powerful tool in helping you quit.
  • Receive a personally-scripted hypnosis cessation recording to enhance learning self-hypnosis that you can listen to daily at home.

Preparing by planning ahead, getting an idea of how your own personal roadmap might look and a peek at some likely roadblocks will help, too.
